Establishing Our Core Values

Our management team has started a book club—reading selected books that will help us make Fourlane more successful. I’m proud to say that we not only read the books, but we take action from the ideas in them as well.

We recently met to define the core values for our company. The idea came from our most recent book club find, Verne Harnish’s Mastering the Rockefeller Habits. Harnish argues that core values create a strong cultural foundation, leading to superior performance, higher employee retention and a better aligned organization. So I thought, let’s do this.

Fourlane has grown a lot in the past two years. We’ve spent time and energy getting the right people in place to meet our business goals. The next step is defining core values that will guide our decisions and ensure consistency throughout the organization.

My next few posts will share our core values.
