A sales receipt is often times used to record usage of inventory parts. It requires only one transaction for the sale – where as an invoice requires the invoice and a payment. Sales receipts can be used as a zero dollar amount to cost inventory out to the job. This video shows you the debits and credits of a sales receipt with inventory.
