I recently published an article in HVACR Business Magazine, Four Reasons Your Company Needs to Go Paperless, that explained the advantages of moving to field service management software. Software Advice, a research firm that helps buyers choose software that fits their needs, identified trends that matched with my own knowledge from working with clients around the country who have field techs and want a more efficient way to manage them:
- 54 percent of buyers are currently using paper, whiteboards and other manual methods to handle field service needs.
- 5 percent of those surveyed don’t use anything to manage field service operations – not even a white board!
- 10 percent use a combined solution of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program with QuickBooks.
Of those surveyed, only 15 percent were using field service management software.
